Follow the money …. the only beneficiary of the proposed ordinance would be the Laundromat Owner.

One would assume that a responsible borough council would vet any changes to existing ordinances during a workshop portion of a meeting and then introduce any changes as a result of councilperson consensus from that workshop. What goes on here? The mayor or business administrator make ordinance changes on their own and then actually have ordinance revisions drafted just to reword or pull them before a meeting of introduction because the public got advance notice and disapproved of the changes? This is all just plain backwards and speaks of a muted borough council.

Question: Who was it ? First it was the police department and now code enforcement who proposed this.

    Answer: It was the mayor.

Shouldn’t it be public knowledge who proposed an ordinance?

It should be discussed at the council meeting.

Hey, that’s not fair. If something is a good idea, the mayor gladly gets and takes credit; something stinky, like musty towels and such, he “has nothing to do with it”. Some things should be kept private, like the names of recipients of charity, like gift cards, but an unpopular idea as well??? C’mon, fess up. This is a small town full of love and honesty, right? Welcome to the Matt and Council show, a comedy of errors and shenanigans. Stay tuned, it will just get better. Now I remove my tongue from my cheek.
