Yes, Janet Grosshandler’s numbers are somewhat interesting.  At the polls she came in last by a wide margin, trailing third place finisher Richard Brand by 114 votes and leader Joanne Gray by 209 votes.  The mail in was a completely different story though.  In that count Grosshandler came in first by a very wide margin, 42 votes ahead of second place Gray.  Thankfully it wasn’t enough.

Article in the APP said that the provisional ballots for the bonding question wont be counted until Monday. Is there a chance that the 17 vote lead could evaporate? Also, wouldn’t a less than 1% vote differential trigger an automatic recount?

In my opinion not exactly a mandate for the Democrats. Using the % rule usually 20% are the real die hard loyalists, the 80% are the helpless thinkers i always vote democratic no matter what. So i would not exactly call the results a lovefest for Matt.

#1 makes a great point. If the difference is only 1%, it should really trigger a re-vote by law. Something is smelling very fishy here. I’m calling the belmar dems out on mail fraud.

I am not so tired that I will not consider suing the mayor for lying about the funding. The $5.4 million will never be used in its entirely to pay for the 5th Ave pavilion. He lied in his mailings in the face of the Judge’s decision.

The Belmar North End Beach is the best ever …. thanks to Sandy …. don’t go backward with tall buildings that spoil precious sand beach area …. let the public enjoy.

Not following a court order is criminal, not unethical. No? If true that the Prosecutor has noticed Belmar, there must be suspicion of criminal activity.

Right now the only thing that the mayor might be doing that is clearly unethical regarding the recent court matter could be maintaining and still telling people that the 5th Avenue Pavilion will be “free”, of no tax consequence to the taxpayers; and if not that, then convincing residents that a couple of million dollars of potential tax liability is the next best thing because the “it’s free” baloney did not work. The judge ruled on the percentages of payment allocation. Nothing appears to have happened yet, except whatever the spinmaster is concocting. His twisted ways might be considered to be “criminal” in a “higher” court, but we dwell on the lower plane of earth with the laws made by humans. The element of nobodies can only be vigilant in keeping watch and being ready to direct challenges as appropriate.

Granted, the vote by mail fiasco stinks to “high heaven”. On a larger scale, perhaps getting rid of the corrupted individuals will get rid of the problem. Find a way to do that and that person can be the emperor of the world. Who wants to be the Dictator of Belmar? One guy does.
