I’m digressing from my self-imposed rule of only commenting on this blog when my name appears-just this once…it’s about Pat Corea’s letter in today’s Coast Star-stating outrage over the mayor’s use of the word terrorists. This comes from a person who has in the past booed people at council meetings, yelled from her seat at these same meetings, and got up from her seat to hand-deliver petitions to the borough clerk….never stating before hand that she would do so while I personally wouldn’t use the word terrorist, she should be the last person to represent any group-the rules of decorum aren’t for her…she’s demanding an apology from the mayor-I think she should get up at a meeting and apologize for her several instances of rude behavior.

A woman standing up for herself! Novel to some I’d say! You have had the VOTE for how long in the USA? The year of the woman and you get scolded for initiative, just nonsense. What’s next, no unauthorized participating in Belmar for females, only certain females that is?

#0-I’m so glad you stand up for women! Rudeness applies to both males and females-in this case it’s a woman who thinks rules for public participation don’t apply to her…and yet chooses to criticize someone else’s rudeness….I love when women show initiative….what’s next is two women presently sitting as council members….Hurray for Susan B. Anthony and all the women in history who have fought for women’s rights-my comment has nothing to do with the topic you’re presenting… interesting twist you give the story….I’m sure you’ve heard of the saying, “people in glass houses….” maybe this comment clarifies my statement for you…

This guy big claim and Brian for that matter was to unify this town and he or try have failed at evey turn. If Belmar is now a place where we don’t hike our elected offices to higher standard the this town has truly taken a turn for the worst. For it to get to the point where Mrs Wolley has to speak up its a shame . By the way I noticed you to clap after she spoke. Go ahead order your Union mailers and join this joke of a mayor. Again it’s AmTrust issue you just don’t get it the same way this town can’t trust his mayor.

A lot of his behavior runs short of being anything but juvenile and insulting to the butt of whoever has fallen out of favor. I might add that some day it might be the wrong person. I can’t see him apologizing for if he did he wouldn’t mean it.

Right on Patricia! As a petitioner, I also am appalled and upset at the Mayors language. Terrorist is a very ugly word and I cannot see how one can compare it with booing from an audience, or walking up to submit a petition that bears their name while their fellow petitioner is being demoralized and intimidated by our mayor. I have never called our mayor a name but he has called me many. I just cannot understand how those around him can condone his behavior by saying nothing. It truly amazes and saddens me

I appreciate Patricia for her for outstanding work, wonderful personality and respectful character. The mayor’s comment was disgusting and an embarrassment to our town. Be it appropriate behavior or not sometimes you just can’t hold your emotions when you see this kind of manipulation. The mayor has lost the respect of people through his actions. Respect is everything, if you lose respect from people they will not act respectfully toward you. The mayor has disrespected the people, thus he is disrespected. I believe that the residents want the park to remain largely the same with the exception of the bathroom. It was my impression that a permanent one was the preferred choice and seems to make more sense. The remaining areas needs a serious clean up and restoration. It seemed simple to me when listening to the residents’ concerns. Lastly the bulkhead has been ignored as has the park, and need to be addressed immediately in conjunction with phase 1 and 2 whether it’s a full replacement or repair. Also the town knowing that it was county property and not addressing that continues to foster serious concerns about their agenda. This is just increased parking somehow finagled under open space. I know we desperately need parking but put it behind the municipal building.
