Deja Vu And More

Couple of things that came across my desk – actually my kitchen table – yesterday that I didn’t get a chance to look at until now.

First up is this piece that came in the mail.  In honor of the late, great Yogi Berra I’m going to name it “Deja Vu all over again”.

abLooks like Jim Bean has vacated his rent-free apartment inside the mayor’s head and that Ken Pringle has taken up residence.  Anyway I think it tells the public that Doherty is angry and frustrated and I don’t think it was a good use of the union’s money.

.

Next up is this story from the Coast Star:

Screen Shot 2015-10-23 at 4.22.30 AM

I would ask the residents NOT to email the mayor with any suggestions.  Come to the next meeting and make your suggestions in person.  Actually, if the mayor really wants the ideas of the public at large, and not just Coast Star readers, he should call a public hearing on the topic.

You see, if you email your suggestions the mayor can pick and choose which ones to share with the public.  The ones that maybe don’t support the date they already want to use might end up being moved to the trash bin.  I also strongly suspect that your email address will be saved to some list of voter emails that somebody has.

Lastly…and this is big…Superior Court Judge Katie A. Gummer (pronounced goo-mer) is expected to hand down her decisions in the beach utility suit today.  I should have the information for you late this afternoon so be sure to check back.

One aspect of that mailer that needs to be mentioned is that Ken Pringle is not only a lawyer but a resident and tax payer of Belmar. He’a man who has dedicated over 20 years of his life to Belmar. Whether you agree or disagree with some of the things he did as mayor, he is a man of integrity and he knows that difference between what is right and what is wrong. Do not believe for one second that he takes enjoyment in bringing his own town to court but it needs to be done. This administration needs to be held in check and Ken Pringle should be applauded. Claire Deicke, you’ve known Ken a long time and you should be ashamed of yourself to allow his name to be used to imply he is somehow hurting our town. He’s won lawsuit after lawsuit against this administration for good reason, they do not follow the law.
“Enough with Ken Pringle’s lawsuits”?! I say, THANK YOU to Ken Pringle for all the hard work you’ve done and please keep up the great work.

For me, this is yet another fine example of the lack of transparency. They ( the administration ) have had private, unrecorded meetings on the Seafood Festival in response to the emergency situation last June. Now they advocate for secret undisclosed public comments. This is an issue that profoundly affected the entire community and as such warrants public discourse that involves the entire community. For years now the administration has scheduled meetings and our patrolmen have put flyers in resident’s mailboxes for more trivial matters. Matt’s role model Christie has had a dozen town hall meetings in Belmar. For Jenn and now Burke to argue that we have transparency is a joke.

This expensive mailer does not mention that it is a bond referendum anywhere.
Ask anyone what recovery means and you will learn that it is returning to a state of health. The 7 points ask people to silence all non-partisan opposition TO ANYTHING. This independent knows that with this administration and their cronies, ENOUGH IS NEVER ENOUGH. Case in point the opposition compromised on the 10th Ave. Now they want it all.

The only thing I agree with in the D Committee’s mailing is

    Enough IS Enough

Enough of Belmar Administration’s LIES and BACKROOM DEALS

Enough of Belmar Administration’s DISINFRANCHISEMENT AND INTIMIDATION of residents

Enough of Belmar Administration’s attempts to VILIFYING CITIZENS who exercise their right of alternate views and free speech, and their RIGHTS AS AMERICANS to seek judicial interventions and judgments for misappropriation of Belmar resources and slight-of-hand financial practices

Enough distortion and disrespect. According to Admini-Logic if YOU sign a petition or were in the majority who voted against the 2014 Referendum to spend $7,000,000+ for beach pavilions YOU ARE AN OBSTRUCTIONIST, YOU ARE DIVISIVE, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DELAY IN THE MAYOR’S PLAN … NOT BELMAR’S PLAN … for our town.

    Enough IS Enough.

Vote for Dave Schneck for Councilman. Vote NO for Pavilion indebtedness.

I’ve voted many different candidates over the years and I’m proud to exercise that flexibility in critical thinking by crossing the aisles. I’ve seen many questions asked at council meetings and said questions were ignored from the dais. To be told to call or email the mayor with questions, comments or anything instead of public view is disgraceful. Nothing more than an old marketing tool used at seminars to cut out non lock steppers out of meeting. The old “I’ll meet you after the meeting so I can give you 100% percent attention”. Shut that query up. That planned, canned speech just uninterrupted. No unauthorized questions be ever asked in public. We are only required to use confessional like communication in Belmar as the unwashed non koolaid drinkers. Sick of schemes of suppression. Vote NO

On another note, there’s a piece in the Press today that says Lake Como is looking to get rid of their Police Dept. It seems there are ten officers and several of them are making over $100k. One is making $58k. It also says one officer has already transferred into Belmar and another is in the process. My question is this. What’s the chances we got or are getting the one making 58k? I’d say the answer is slim and none. Whatever the highest cost, that’s always what we Belmar taxpayers get.

WOW, almost can’t believe that this flyer went out by the Belmar Democratic Committee. I can just imagine what the Judge would say after its ballot explanatory statement ruling as being “…misleading and extraneous information designed to influence rather than inform Belmar voters… “ The lady above said “I am chair of the Democratic Committee here in Belmar-I did review the content beforehand …..there was no changing it once it was decided to move forward with that particular piece” Apparently, someone questioned it. Calling residents “obstructionists” is really an ugly thing to publish especially when they probably, in their opinion, feel they are given misinformation or disinformation.

The consequence of ignoring or manipulating the law, including our own ordinances, is the potential of citizens to take appropriate legal action to force compliance/adherence to the law. I believe everyone in Belmar would be in thrilled if there wasn’t a need to watchdog every action, every dollar, every motive, every inch of green space, and so much more. Unfortunately, we have had law suits in recent years ostensibly to protect and preserve Belmar despite the current Administration.

#31 Its funny how the mayor posted on the Belmar website that the town raised over 200k. The Mayor said that the town raised 240k. But Dave already posted the pemits for the 1002 14th Ave house and the permits said that the house cost 458k to build. After all of this the Mayor is still lying. Teresa Keefe had on her facebook that she wanted to give a special thanks to Kelly Williams and April Claudio. Thats funny because Teresa went to school with both of them and was life long friends with Kelly Williams. But we still dont know where the shoprite gift cards went? For Matt to have a ribbon cutting event for the 14th ave house 4 months after the campaign ended is his way of slapping everybody in their face who donated to the Home By Summer Campaign. Plus like what was said before. Matt will blow this ribbon cutting event up just to take attention away from all the wrong that he is doing. I am so disgusted.
