Everyone knows it is a spending problem, not a revenue problem. Jim Bean would have written a letter demanding the state live within its means, but then he doesn’t have a wife working for the union that will make a large profit as more contracts with forced union labor in them get handed out. Mayor Doherty asking the state to raise the gas tax so he can get richer. Sounds about right. I am so proud of Belmar and its voters.

Glad I could help get rid of those damning ethics complaints by Councilman Bean before leaving the Local Finance Board to take my new job as D.O.T. Commissioner. I know Maggie will really appreciate my efforts to get the new Hudson rail tunnel in the works. Be well.

Just when you are able to save a couple of bucks at the gas pump …. the Inlet Terrace wizards have better ideas for using your money……..
Someone mentioned to me that the town purchased, at a significant cost, an artificial Christmas tree a few years back. Just wondering why a real one went up this year & we didn’t use the one already purchased? Was it some how damaged in Sandy?
(I personally prefer a real tree, but if money was spent on the artificial one, with the reasoning it would be used every year – then do that…..)

We never intentionally bought a “Christmas” tree. We did invest in a winter holiday tree based on an old secular German tradition. WE did not invest in anything Quanza, so I guess we are a bunch of white racists. Do you want me to contact Rev. Al Sharpten ? I have a length of pipe to donate to the borough should we decide to honor those who celebrate Festivus.
Maybe some property taxes will go up…in August, based on the new assessments. And some might come down, not naming names here. Yes, Matt, they elected you based on your good word. How will you explain that? Yeah, yeah, times change, some areas flood and some don’t. Wiggle wiggle wiggle, can’t let them see you squirm. Oh yeah, Merry Christmas. I don’t give a hoot about being p.c.
At least the citizens of Belmar now know what high-paid State job Doherty has his eye on…transportation trust fund commissioner!
He’ll do a good job of ensuring it remains insolvent.
