Since the election is over, will Claire start posting on the blog again? I really miss her bipartisanship conversations she’d have with us! Please come back Clair, please come back!

How did our town vote for Trump? I can see what the internal politics of our town is doing to divide us but that’s no excuse. I went to bed happy to know that I lived in an area with enough like-minded people. I guess I just need to find a better town.

If you’re really going to leave Belmar please make sure you move to a swing state.

#3 I believe you would be happier living in San Francisco. There you will find all the peeing, puking, pooping, doing dope, drinking in the pubic areas. You also can get killed or mugged by an illegal alien. This is your vision of peaceful,no anti this or that, no judgements, no respect for views other than the Mayor and Council. I will help you pack.

Trust me – Matt didn’t get my vote. Never will. But as a minority it is sad to think that the majority voted against him in this country and yet he will still be president. Not everyone in this town is Irish Catholic and to hear that a little first grade girl said that all of the brown kids are going to have to move if Trump wins?? Why can’t we all get along. Neither candidate was amazing. That’s been the case for decades now. I feel like its constantly the lesser of two evils. However, there’s always forgiveness for telling a lie. I don’t think that there’s forgiveness for racism or abuse. I can hope that he ran on the Republican ticket as he claimed he would and bring a more liberal approach to everything despite the party’s typical lines. After all, The Apprentice & SNL are scripted so he has some acting experience under his belt and this could have been his way of getting his foot in the door.

#8 – I actually thought NJ might swing this year so I’m glad to see that didn’t happen.

Believe in what’s right – despite party affiliation.

#11. Forgiveness for telling a lie? Ask the mother of a dead American that Hillary lied to. Please pack up and leave. Try Mexico. You seem to like paying for illegals

What do you mean no provisional votes were counted or there were no provisional votes cast? Please clarify. I saw several being cast.

I too wrote down at least 7 names for provisional ballots within a 3 hour period. I also wondered where they were in the number totals

As I understand it, it takes time for the County to determine if the voter is registered to vote in that district by provisional ballot. Sometimes “0” counts as vote cast. Sometimes all count. I guess in a close race it would be good to ask poll workers how many provisional were cast. I didn’t fact check this but have been told it.

Am I reading vote totals pre absentee and pre provisional correctly that show Aileen Fahy as the top vote getter in the boro for all offices, federal, county and local? I,for one, find that very interesting and believe congratulations are in order. Perhaps absentees and provisionals will change this but right now only the’no’ on casinos ran ahead of her.

Maybe Mrs. Fahy should start to consider a run for town council , the town could use her that’s for sure. We are talking about someone who is a Life Long Belmartin, School Board Member , who is always looking out for the good of the town and isn’t afraid to go against her own party for what is right for Belmar. That is something you cant say about the current members.
