Put a fuel apparatus at the marina immediately or give the slip rental back to mitigate the damages. Errors and Omissions again.

Belmar will now have the first “green” marina. This works with the 1996 Sustainable Living By The Sea. No fossil fuels to mess up the planet. Maybe it wasn’t Chef’s construction company, but actually the work of eco-terrorists. Bring on the row boat and paddleboat rentals. Just say NO to motor boats and yachts.

What will Belmar do now without the revenue stream from the sale of fuel for the boats? Have taxpayers make up for the loss? Are they no longer in the marina business? Oh, I forgot…they have the bar business. Boats can pull in, a guy could jump out, buy some brew, return to his craft, then sail or motor off. Happy trails!

I would want to know who did it , when did it happen , who is going to pay to fix it ? Is the contractor responsible for mark outs ? how much is this going to cost the town people of Belmar ? Repair Cost , Lost Revenue ?

Lets be honest you know the town is going to pay for this , there is no way Matt will ask Chefs to pay a dime. Just more cost shifted over to the good people of Belmar. 1st class operation that town.

EKCIED ERIAC your thoughts are backwards. As for the Marian Gas Station, there is about 2 million dollars in docking fees that have been paid for the upcoming season. How is it possible that the only gas on the inlet is not functioning for some 2 months now. The gas issue should be corrected ASAP, this is a major issue that a reasonable leader would address immediately.

Was it done incorrectly EKCIED ERIC. The marina has started to go downhill ever since 9th Ave Pier became a tenant. I have friends that would come and stay on their boat for the weekend but left for a more peaceful marina. When will the Hudson County thug start to respect the tax payers of Belmar.

#20 yes all the slips to the right of the bar are designated for 9th Avenue Pier customers only. They used to be for transient boats-more lost revenue!

The docks that are directly in front of Chefs can only accommodate small boats in the 20 ft range. This would be the only logical place to accommodate boat customers, but considering the size limitation, I don’t see that happening. However, over the past few years the number of boat slip not leased have noticeable increased, maybe they can designate a dock and lease it to Chefs. We can certainly use those funds to help pay down the 43million dollars debut created by our current leadership.

Forget Elli Musso, Harbor Director- ONLY PERSON TO CONTACT IS Colleen Connolly the boss who all have to ask, and be answerable to. All else is a waste of time.

Claire you’re missing the point of the fuel or lack of fuel situation at our marina. We are supposed to be a full service marina with purpose of bring transient boats into Belmar to get supplies and spend money in town. We have been with out a fuel dock since 2/19 and the boating season is starting this is unacceptable. We need to be doing more to keep our slip renters happy not less, its bad enough the parking and the marina look like a bomb zone , now we have to have our renters go to Manasquan to get fuel. Even you can see the problem here, and as a tax payer I’m sure you would love to know how this happened and who is going to pat to repair the system. The fact that not a word has been said about this (Tom Brennan Harbor Commission ) is joke and shows a lack of respect for our slip renters. Think of all the boats on there way back from Fla. that could have stopped in our “beautiful” town and enjoyed all we have to offer and spending $$$ at the Taylors , Brandl’s, Rite Aide and yes getting fuel and dockage from the town and now watch them all stop a mile short at Manasquan or going 10 miles past to the highlands. Someone dropped the ball big time on this. I will leave you with one more question any idea who is responsible for calling in for “Mark Outs ” at the marina ?

Your right again EKCIED ERC. The Belmar Marina has a large impact on the local economy, if it is not fully functional. Most of the boats in the Shark River have gas tanks that require at least 200 gallons to fill. People will start bringing gas in large containers which is a disaster waiting to happen. Furthermore, boat mechanics, marina staff, bait stores, ice shops and tackle shops are all effected. Also the local charter boats use the gas dock effected to fill up their boat. I don’t have the exact numbers, but I will bet that the boating fishing industry in the Shark River is one of the largest industries in Belmar. How can this gas issue go unattended by the Belmar leadership????
