I read in today’s paper (APP) that the contract for services is a 10 year contract. I thought it was for 5 years. Am I the only one that had that impression? On another note what savings do I get, as a Belmar taxpayer, for policing Lake Como?

#1- Sounds better for the Magic Matt when he touts a $10M deal rather than a $5M deal. You will get NO SAVINGS. On the other hand LC will save $1.5M A YEAR. Lower taxes than Belmar. Your tax rate will remain stable with less Police Services to Belmar. They will be spending all their time with the LC drunks. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Their OT budget will sky-rocket, paid for by $.75 on Belmar resident and $.25 by LC, even though they will be racking up the time in LC. Then when all other money grabbing ideas run out taxes will CLIMB to pay off the $47M in debt. Magic Matt will be gone by then, I hope.
