This is a complex read, but was worth the effort to more clearly understand the who, what and whys of this action and Judge Gummer’s decision. Thank you for sharing it Dave. While this is a final judgement that reflects a victory for the residents of Belmar, my thoughts go to other troubling unresolved issues including the Mayor’s current attempt to co-opt and reconfigure the green space of McClearie Park, the unfinished Lake Como outflow project, and whether or not the beach utility fund will replace Ocean Avenue’s palm trees when they die this winter. (Need to lighten up sometimes.) We cannot expect the Mayor or administrator to change their stripes (hmm, wonder how they’d look in stripes). We need to vote NO on the pavilion question and YES for Dave’s inclusion on the Council.

Boro Administrator trial testimony per this ruling is unbelievable. She had State warning about use of buy a board funds plus withheld it from public records request. Seems like the Judge didn’t find her testimony credible at all if I am reading it correctly. Seems as if that was no help to Belmar’s case.

The issue is that the Judge found Connolly not credible. The repeated statements of Mayor and Council members Brennan and Nicolay not true.
