The time to yell and carry on about this was when these policemen were getting those raises over a period of years. It’s too late now. But the good thing is now they will be able to assimilate into the community at large as a normal citizen and find productive private employment. There are Now Hiring signs everywhere. Whole Foods, Acme, Quickchek, and many more stores are hiring.

I did see that Wall is hiring police officers also….but they (Wall) didn’t want to touch the Lake Como policing mess.

Closer and closer to moving out of town and moving to a higher tax town that is managed better…

#2- Joe. Don’t really know what you do for a living or really care. Perhaps if you had the foresight and a pair of BXXXS you too could have been receiving those raises over the years. I sense jealousy. These guys work 24/7, sometimes shift work, 25 to 30 plus years on Easter and Christmas Days. They miss many an important family function over the years so that YOU can walk around and enjoy life’s peacefulness and security. Trust me, a thankless job. Called only when the SXXT hits the fan and someone (maybe someday YOU) needs help and has no one else to turn to. Did YOU ever call the Police and ask them to come over for a nice meal on a Holiday???? YOU should wake up and be thankful, life is too short. And yes they were receiving those much deserved raises back when life was grand in America and people were thriving and also getting big raises. No one cared then, life was good for all. But now when jobs are being downsized and perhaps YOU aren’t fairing as well as YOU did years ago, it’s time to pick on those people that took a gamble, starting making a fraction of what was norm in society, and put their lives on the line day in and day out so that YOU could sit on YOUR AXX and criticize others freely. Look in the mirror and wake up and thank GOD each day for YOUR frontline servants. And don’t even start on their well deserved pensions of which they pay %10 into. The Politicians of this state, both sides, put us in this predicament starting with Gov. Whitman and continuing. And the Politicians, both sides, continue to abuse the system for their own well being. Go pick on professional athletes and their outrageous salaries, maybe someone will agree with you. And yes those salaries effect you every day of your life.

    # 4 – I didn’t mean to upset you sir. But I stand by what I said. But I should have been more clear in what I said. Those politicians in Lake Como knew of their predicament. Yet they kept on in the last few years 4-5 as if everything was peachy keen. That is the problem here in our state. Nobody wants to stop when they know they’re going broke. Even now, Atlantic City is in danger of losing their police dept. but also don’t want to stop their spending. As far as these Lake Como police officers getting paid off, that’s too bad, but we’re experiencing hard times. As we used to say years ago in a nasty situation I found myself in, [S**t flows down hill]. And sir, if your at the bottom of the hill when the excrement gets flowing, then it’s just ts on you. Nothing is fair in this life.

#4-I think you guys should be expressing this frustration to the powers that be in person and not on social media where no one cares to be honest. And about working on major holidays n what not, I do see year in and year out LCPD police cars parked in front of their homes spending time w/their families. So don’t give me that sub story. This isn’t newark, nj.. Its little Lake Como, there is an average of 2/3 police officers on duty daily during the off season and they don’t work that hard.. Lets be real…

Also… Why isn’t Louis laying off the DPW too? You know damn well B-M doesn’t do a damn thing. They don’t pick up garbage collection anymore, what is S-R and M-C doing on a daily basis? How about J-K, who was hired because of his dad’s landscaping business in town? The only work these guys do is (Leaf & Brush collection, cutting grass and painting sidewalks) nothing else..

There are many other things in town that can be cut besides the police department, lets get real…

Someone should OPRA how much Lake Como has made off metal collection for the past 10 years. You’ll see that Lake Como won’t have much records to go by. The guys scrap the metal that people bring in and thats pick up and then they pocket the $ and split between the crew..

This happened when Fillmore was DPW director and its still happening with BM as DPW director too.

What you described is called Theft. Perhaps the new BPD detective could get right on that. I suggest you drop a dime to the MCPO for better results.
