Matt Rooney has joined the “element” , or has he/ Both sides use children and have for some time. Matt Doherty once accused me publically of “attacking his family”. I never have and never will. People with a following like Matt Rooney will do it and I would never go there. Take Ted Cruz’s use of his girls early in the GOP race for president. We all remember the well earned political cartoon of Senator Cruz as organ grinder and his two girls as monkeys. Recently GOP Belmar Council candidate emphasized this poor choice. On Vallario For Belmar he posted an intimate picture of his wife and two girls stating that the reason he is running and that we should vote for him is so when he gifts his home on tenth Ave. to his daughter 40 years from now, the girls can afford the taxes ( in 2056 )!. This blatant use of his young girls in an emotional play for votes got many likes from former element folks. Frankly, I don’t wish for any child of political/partisan parents the future in store for them. Rather than being drawn to the candidate, the opposite effect happens.
Rather than feeling love and inspiration, I am left with sadness and pity.

#3 REALLY what a crock, stop it already. People love their children just because you think they are using them doesn’t mean they are. Get over yourself and holier than thou sadness and pity. It’s fine to show your children. No intelligent person votes for a candidate cause their kids are cute. You never saw a politician kiss a baby, how about the Pope he kisses babies too. Should we just ignore and pretend our politicians don’t have kids. I love to see kids in photos and politicians talking about their children. Stop telling people what to do based on your incorrect interpretation of what they are doing. Talking badly about anyone’s children, not just politicians, is unacceptable. Get on that band wagon.

#5 – I’m so old, conversations of ones sons went like this. One father meets another father on the street – Hi Joe, Hi Jim, How’s everything going. Oh fine, but my son’s so dumb, you know what he did – blah, blah, blah – Hell, that’s nothing you should have seen what my idiot son did just yesterday – blah, blah, blah. Well, take care, say hey to Mary, You too, say hey to Diane, see you Tuesday night at the bowling alley.

“Kids as Props” – seems I heard that before. Using politicians’ kids for photo ops is OK, just don’t complain and act all self righteous and outraged when other people mention it and make a big stink about comments. Cute girls, where’s the baby?

#5. Everyone from George Wallace to whomever loved their kids. So what’s the point? If a person uses their child/children in conjunction with a message in support of their running for a particular office, THEN THEY ARE USING THEIR CHILDREN.
