Well, mostly misses
A few odds and ends from today’s papers. Click on the image to read the whole story:
From the Washington Post:
Way to go, New Hampshire!
Of course the unions here don’t have to worry about that. Even our “Republican” governor would never touch it.
But they do have to worry about him keeping some of the promises he’s already made, as reported in the APP:
Christie’s defense: “I was unconstitutional back then.” (Yeah…he’ll make a really great president.)
Another Christie tactic is one I’ve become somewhat accustomed to: the “conspiracy theory” defense, as reported in the Daily Record:
On another topic, a partisan hack friend of mine is vacationing down in Vero Beach, Florida right now and has two things to report: First is that it’s very uncomfortable wearing his tin foil hat in the hot Florida sun, and secondly is that the famous Jack Baker’s Lobster Shanty in Vero Beach has shut down due to “an offer it couldn’t refuse”. Here is the Vero News story about it:
Actually, I did really like the cole slaw at Jack Baker’s when they had that place at 507 Main Street for a few years.
One more item worth noting today is our mayor’s praise of the retiring Claire French in a missive he wrote to the APP:
I would like to point out to the mayor that there are more than just Democrats and Republicans in the world and those of us who have no particular affection for either of these political parties can’t really get very excited about bipartisanship. What we really need is nonpartisanship and simple, limited government, not the team-sport professional wrestling type spectacle that the two parties regularly put on for us.
