I’m surprised Tom is pushing for a recount. I picture a movie scene thats like an old political thriller. Tom Brennan (played by Val Kilmer) is filled with self righteous rage as he picks up the phone (a real phone, not an iphone or an android. A big heavy, doubles as a murder weapon kind of phone) to call the election board. Suddenly, but with eerie calm, Matt (played by Werner Herzog)reaches over and hangs up the phone. Tom is shocked, then confused. He demands to know why Matt would do such a thing. But Matt just shakes his head with detached pity and condescension and says quietly, “no Tom, we can’t have the election board analyzing our mail in ballots now can we?” Tom is still confused. Surely those votes are legitimate. He begins to protest but catches the eye of Brian (played by Brian Dennehy) who simply frowns and shakes his head. Undeterred, Tom begins to speak, “but it’s only one vote! Jen?” But Jen (played by Tilda Swinton) has already begun crafting a press release blaming the result on low turn out and rain and the relative humidity and anything but the actions of her boss. She wonders how it ever got this bad. She contemplates, only for a second, maybe leaving this crazy political roller coaster. But as the thought enters her head she looks up suddenly to see Matt, eyes narrowed and mouth just a thin line across his face, staring at her. And with that, she knows, and resumes her work.

I would cast Dana Delany as Jen. Dana has the thick hair to swing around. Tilda has an air of intelligence about her.

The real stars now are Dave, Mike Seebeck, the infamous Mr. Creamer and the bold and beautiful Katrina. There are other players as well, those bold enough to step up to the microphone at meetings and confront the wall of ice on the dais. Jim Bean and Joy, you, too.

Ted and Bill in Florida, as well. And the maligned kid with the sign at the protest.
