Admin, is this the truck that backed up over him? lol…
It’s more like- someone through him under a bus.
No the bus he was thrown under
Did the Tri-city news, the Hub,Coaster or the Two Rivers Times follow this story? You can’t make it up. It wasn’t a bus it was a tractor/plow from the DPW depot on the beach at 1st Ave. Where is Damon Runyon when needed
Any chance the business administer’so resignation was accepted also??
The town is totally crooked
DuPont is gone and Belmar is left holding the bill.
It’s a matter of did he resign b/c he had enough of these officials or that the officials had enough of him? Ultimately, a sad situation all around. Robert, u have a good point. Clerk needs to step up to the plate as well. Think all players need to know who they answer to. The taxpayers.
No way the clerk/admin resigns
Pringle = Harlem Globetrotters
DuPont = Washington Generals
Translation: Pringle doesn’t lose to DuPont.
Steve kornacki’s MSNBC report on two faces of Belmar mayor Matt Doherty is again swirling about the internet. Did he hear Dawn Zimmer being intimidated by James CostabiLe of the Christie administration or not? Hmmmmmmm. Speaking on camera, on the dias or in court your stories should be credible, no typos, mistakes, misconstrued or hornswaggling. Flim flam the pavilion vote and it will also fly back int ok your face. how much influence w as involved in the 507 liquor license transfer vs the connelly station transfer to chefs? how long were they held up? Anything like the 50 foot transfer to the marina from 507
If this is all a product of bad advice by DuPont like the Mayor says it is, then we should be going after his insurance to foot the bill for legal fees and if necessary, the cost of the reprinting of ballots. Let’s see if that happens.

Wait! It get’s worse. William Northgrave
( Mc Manimon, Scotland… Newark, NJ, a resident of Bayonne is a notoriously sloppy and inept attorney. He will be no more than a more expensive version of Dupont. He was responsible for loosing the Edelman, Gray v. Belmar- Beachfront Redevelopment suit-2013. You think things were bad before. Just another attorney who will do what the administration wants to do regardless of law.
The bad thing is not that DuPont and Northgrave keep losing in court. Those cases we needed them to lose. The bad thing is that they agreed to argue them in the first place. We need an attorney who will tell the mayor he can’t do these things.
Once again, Thank You Kenny and the plaintiffs.
This is like a soap opera. Tune in every day for the next exciting chapter.
Northgate’s curriculum vitae clearly indicates that he represents the democrat party, not all of the folks and stupid “schemers” will get the taxpayers to foot the bill for his fees. talk about serving at the pleasure of the mayor? One crash after another.
Admin-Don’t they have to go out to bid for a new lawyer?
No, but they should interview some new people and pick someone who will keep us from being sued all the time.
I know somebody good
My opinion is that this whole “mess” has been planned and orchestrated by the administration as “Plan B” to be enacted if they had been challenged about the explanatory statement, to postpone the current lawsuits until after the election if possible. Blame it on the lawyer, not Doherty and Colleen. They never make mistakes. What will Jennifer say? Oops, no M&C meeting in two weeks, cancelled. The word will be that the evil and obstructionist element is against recovery and keeps filing frivolous lawsuits.
When you google Michael Dupont, Sayerville, More Monmouth Musings- It seems many, even in his own party are pissed off with him. When DuPont was the only Red Bank official not to endorse Doherty’s buddy Vin Gopal did that start a riff?
Everybody there with a high rank was an apprentice. I know the director of Public Work just recently got his certificate to be a director well after he was already getting paid for it. Collen used to work at the arc in Point Pleasent as a cook. Now makes over 150k that is Belmar for you
View the video of last night’s council meeting… mayor states
… trail went from ballot question (prejudicial, misleading. misinterpreted) interpretative statement by its author connolly… Said interpretation statement then goes to BelmarMayorMattDoherty… to Dupont… back to Clerk…
What, specifically, is the requirement of a municipal attorney? Do all municipalities have municipal attorneys to monitor council meetings? If so, at what point did that position become necessary to the public or was the practice implemented via league of municipalities to provide benefits and pensions to their friends and sycophants especially if said attorney served at the pleasure of the mayor (of course, with council resolution consent).
#16 Admin we don’t know what goes on behind closed doors maybe Mr. DuPont did advise that what he wants can’t be done, its not his fault the mayor thinks he can do what he wants.
I think he probably never approved it.
Admin, I agree. I think Mr. DuPont is the fall-guy.
I most definitely do not think Dupont expected to be the fall guy. I believe he was part and party to all of it and was to step aside after the election. I think he wants to distance himself from Belmar. But they got caught and then he took the shot. Dupont knows a lot, if I were Matt I would be worried. Too much has happened here.
#29 Sounds very plausible. He was “collateral damage” and yes, he knows a lot. As Yogi Berra said, “It ain’t over till its over.”
Think a towns attorney will go with the flow of those that appointed him/her. As long as a ruling isn’t challenged, it’s legal. Wording of interruptive statement was written by an employee and/or Mayor and apparently approved as to legal form by attorney. Simple. Downfall is that it should have been in the resolution. From what I have heard it was just a bad call from the attorney. There are worse sins in the world. Don’t agree how the town handled his separation. Could have been done more discreetly.
#31 you don’t honestly believe that the Captain of the ship would have accepted responsibility for his appointees/employees actions while on his watch?
#29 I think he was only part of it because the mayor told him what he wanted, i dont think he would risk losing his license over this.
He lost his reputation, by giving it to Doherty.
don’t think we’ve heard the last from DuPont …. Red Bank opponents will make political hay of the Belmar matter…….
