Bill McKim had his eye on Ocean front property for a Restaurant for 5 years November 1, 2012, too.
I’m sorry but there still is the Belmar response on percentage of new pavilion space for beach goers and the corresponding use of beach utility funds to pay for, as a result of Judge Lawson’s ruling in Susko vs Belmar. Is there a reason why this blog hasn’t investigated this?
“The FEMA millions will also, ultimately, mostly go to the beach goers. Despite the fact that there is some sort of appeal going on, the Borough’s case for using the money for Taylor is weaker than ever. I have published the Taylor booking calendar for 2017 and 2018. We now know what the Taylor pavilion is being used for. Not a single event has anything to do with anything involving a beach goer. In fact even the restaurant section of Taylor, which there was some case for allowing to beach to pay for, can be challenged further if the kitchen is used for catered weddings in the other part of the building. It’s not even a restaurant anyway. The space is all kitchen”

After Salt wins their case maybe all the BS will stop. Getting real folks.
Boycott Merri makers cause the hogging of Taylor is not making the town merry
Use the pavilion for beach going activities for now then once the FEMA money rolls in cut beachgoers of at the knees and use it as a Belmar cash cow. Simple
Wonder how much is Merri makers going to charge per person to use the facility?
Haven’t supported a Chefs business ever
#7 Me either, and I boycott any place in Belmar that openly supports the mayor and council members. Just hope that Rite Aid never puts a sign in it’s window to vote for any of the present crew.
#4 – I thought Salt and town settled?
Do I understand correctly that if one wants to rent Taylor Pavilion on a Saturday they have to go through Merri-Makers?

An outspoken leader of the Anti-Pavilions Committee, Teddy Ehmann of Oakwood Road, stated today that he will begin boycotting Belmar Businesses. Ehmann Stated, “I agree with boycotts”. He explained, “My support for boycott is for a business that works against my values and principles.” The Belmar businesses Ehmann was referring to are those that display a sign encouraging voters to vote Yes on rebuilding two pavilions destroyed by Sandy (as reported by http://www.commonsenseforbelmar.com, July 28, 2014).
Teddy Ehmann, who’s legal name is Vincent T. Ehmann, was recently in the news for allegedly harassing Belmar Tourism Director Mary Brabazon (as reported by The Coast Star, July 10, 2014).

The current state of affairs and the legitimate beef re: Taylor Pavilion warrants what Matt hates the most, namely a protest on the boardwalk with signs and the press present. I ought to know for it was just a year ago I stood with others in front of the Mayor’s house. HE hated it. May I suggest you plan a protest and get a permit for a time when Merri-Makers has reserved the building for a big event. M at I suggest signs saying “the Peoples Pavilion NOT the Mayor’s private club house.
Coming soon (from the Borough calendar)…

Taylor Pavilion

#13 Can I ATTEND? My grandmother came from Jersey City. Yes from Ireland in 1875.
And what benefit is the Jersey City Day to any Belmar resident? This is just another Belmar sponsored political exposure event for Matt Doherty and his ego.
Good day for a protest!
Lock your doors and wear your bullet proof vest
Great marketing technique for MM and Belmar.
