Can anyone help me? According to the bill paid list 2015, Belmar collected just shy of $120,000. in SID assessments paid to the BBP?
Now a lot of money went to a billboard that featured the 9th Ave. Pier bar and grille.
I know they pay no taxes for property. Do they pay the SID tax?

#2. This Blog has commented on it since the beginning. I t is my understanding that the improvement district- the I. and the D. is the main street business district. You can judge for yourself just what has been done over the past 4 years.

The reasons for the vacancies of stores are many most is the economy present, and the changes in retailing, look how long it took to get the Acme space rented for example. Making pretty sidewalks is not going to make a business move in, it is the question is their enough of a demand for my products or service to make $$$$

2015 …. Belmar commercial property tax assessments were reduced 5.5% (average) …. while Belmar residential property tax assessments increased 2.7% (average) …. Whatever was done with SID tax money didn’t improve commercial property assessed values …. residential taxpayers are carrying the Belmar burden.
