And I’d like your vote on election day.
It has been reported by several residents that the letters from Mayor Doherty and Council candidate Tom Burke that are published a few posts down were hand delivered Friday by Mayor Doherty. They have all also reported that he was accompanied by Borough Administrator Colleen Connolly and by Borough Engineer Nick DeCotis.
We learned last year that DeCotis’ employer, Maser Consulting, doesn’t let a thing like professional ethics, conflicts of interest or appearances of impropriety get in the way of business.
But I wonder, in Connolly’s case, whether a bond in a referendum vote should be considered to be a candidate.

In this case candidate and referendum question are considered the same.
I find the engineer’s statement especially troubling:
“To avoid permitting challenges and keep the project on an accelerated schedule, the building needed to be kept in the original footprint of the old buildings. Changing the footprint of the buildings would require a lengthy NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) review process and possible rejection.”
The engineer’s primary design criteria for pavilions was NJDEP review process avoidance …. to deprive the public (including residents) of any say or input …. Time for a new engineer.
Another letter to the editor by Matt. Explaining how the pavilion will not cost the boro anything. voters better watch how they vote. No is how all should vote
#2. Gee Gene. So much concern for D.E.P. permitting ocean-side BUT, ( always a big but )let’s not give a damn on the Shark River. Oh! I forgot they never got permitted by or requested
approval yet for the planned nonsense to the west.
I would hose off my porch if those three walked on it. I would interpret their visit as a gang-of-three threat.
