#1-Thanks, I surely will be there clapping for all the positives going on in town..you can count on it!!-thanks for keeping an eye on me..don’t you also want to comment about where I sit?…it was interesting- a while back, I have a chronic”trick” knee that would move out of place at the slightest provocation………faceless, nameless people on this blog chided me for not going to the microphone when I spoke-truth is I didn’t want to be too far away from my chair in case my knee slipped out of place-I was scolded by the administrator of this blog, citing a gentleman with great mobility issues who always made his way to the microphone.the inference being, if he could come to the microphone, why couldn’t I?.trouble is, when a knee moves out of place, a person falls to the floor-that would have REALLY given you folks something to talk about…it’s interesting how I’m so carefully monitiored..should I be flattered by all the attention?..but then I’m criticized….why should my happiness concern you? Yes, I’ll clap,
and clap and clap-maybe I’ll clap for “nothing”, just so that you’ll notice and report back-where is the faceless person who says I ridicule the poor folks on this blog? Loook at #1 comment-then check mine out-remember, I only respond when I’m mentioned (usually in a negative way on this blog) for all of you who worry about me, my knee has been in good condition lately……but if I suddenly don’t come to the microphone at council meetings, may I please have a pass??

Looks like all the liquor licenses expire on June 30th. Does that mean they’ve been operating without a license from June 30th of this year to present ?

It would be nice if the Belmar M&C took positive steps to allow handicapped or challenged people to participate in municipal government …. the court room dais is not wheelchair accessible …. preventing handicap participation on the Council, Planning Board or Zoning Board.
The “stand-up” requirement, before the Council at meetings, is cruel and can only discourage residents from speaking …. a chair, table and microphone should be provided.
Lake Como did a good job altering their meeting room for accessibility …. maybe our ADA Committee can follow their lead and do something.

The decorum during a council meeting should not allow for clapping, booing, or the like. It’s one of the many reasons I can not stomach a council meeting. Council meetings should be run by the rules of the form of government, and Robert’s Rules of Order. Unfortunately, no one seems to know what those are, and it’s a romper room, kiddie corner!

Sir, I’ve tried that. The powers that be just refuse to stay within the parameters of Robert’s Rules of Order. Even during my Union meeting days when half of the members were in some state of inebriety, they were required to behave themselves or be bodily thrown out by the Sgt. at Arms. Here in our town meetings, the “Sgt. at Arms” has forced me not to abide by Robert’s rules of Order.

10-How about people talking out of turn from the audience-such as insulting the mayor and council?..extremely rude and inappropriate..these are the self-righteous individuals who swear up and down that they do everything right and proper….and booing-I so agree with this-a woman who is actively involved with anti Claire Deicke….yelled out when I was on council and booed me as a resident when I spoke more recently…then the mayor wouldn’t allowed her to speak due to her behavior and she was angry-imagine that??- ( she’s really and embarrassment to people she associates with-petitioners)I’m sure she is one of the people on this blog who is faceless and nameless-fits her profile…as for clapping-I’m not sure about that-as a board of ed member, and sitting in on other town council/board of ed meetings….people do clap for positives..it’s not like I’m insulting anyone-just reinforcing positives..that said, people on both sides of issues should act in a dignified way-with decorum….as for clapping…..I’ll check that out ….to see if it’s fitting behavior for a council meeting….we clap for employees of the month, good news about borough activity, recognizing indivuals who have served the community…such as firemen who’ve served 50 years…….(I’m not the only one clapping-although I love to acknowledge good stuff happening here in Belmar!!

Mr. Dilberger, I have heard you tell the mayor he is not following the guidelines of Robert’s Rules of Order, and as I said it is because he does not know them! Perhaps he is not aware he should be following them? Clapping at a council meeting is ridiculous, and for a former councilwoman to do so, just shows that the rules are unknown. Maybe this can be reported at the state level? We can buy the book for the mayor for the holidays! I might even happen to have an extra copy somewhere.

Mrs. Deicke clapping during the resolution portion of the council meeting is absolutely allowed. Clapping because you agree with a point someone made is not. You are correct people yelling from the audience, to be rude, or a point you agree with, is not allowed. But, it is the responsibility of the Mayor to keep the ordering following the rules of order. He needs to immediately shut down any behavior out of order, and not just to the ones who disagree with him, but all of them! You telling someone not to boo is actually out of order. The Mayor needs to step up and control the meetings, and in an unbiased way. I guess it would be difficult to do this with out knowing the rules. As I said, I’ll try to find him a copy, but I would think the library would have one he could borrow.

I don’t think clapping at a meeting is ridiculous-when we’re honoring someone-or there has been great news about our town mentioned at a council meeting-people clap at meetings all the time-not just here in Belmar-I mentioned that booing is rude behavior when I spoke during the public session of a meeting-never did I speak of this-or scold someone for doing this booing out of the blue-I’ll check the rules and regs about clapping….and behave accordingly..clapping demonstrates appreciation of someone or something..the ill-bred people who boo or shout out show ignorance of proper behavior…and common courtesy

#16…No, I’m not making it up-and I’m not a liar-the person was sitting in the back of the room, booed me, and the mayor wouldn’t allow her to speak when she raised her hand during public session-this goes back to when I was on council-2012-then she came to the mayor after the meeting and complained that he wouldn’t let her speak-the woman is one of the names heading the petition drive against Taylor Pavilion..this DID happen, I was the person who was BOOED, and the person who booed me wasn’t ALLOWED to speak-liar, liar pants on fire? I know you’re trying to be funny, but Pitiful is more like it.. no logic, immature, and out-and-out ridiculous-I remember the details vividly, because this person thought she could boo me while I was speaking, and then be allowed to come to the microphone-she was also calling out at the meeting, which she’s been known to do…she’s just as rude and inappropriate as you are…how could you possibly call me a liar when you can’t even think logically or intelligently? You don’t know what happened….I do because it HAPPENED to me..you show amazing nerve with a lack of intelligence to back it up…and faceless at that!
